Valve Amplification Company PA-45

I acquired a VAC PA-45 amplifier set (amps & power supplies) in mint condition (gold & piano black finish). They operate flawlessly. The PA-45 is the 2-EL34 version of the PA-90 (4-EL34); they are monoblocks with separate power supplies. Does anyone have any information on them, or using a set? They sound nice with my Klipsch speakers. VAC doesn't respond to my inquiries, but do have the owner's manual for download. I understand they're the first products of VAC.

I've worked with the PA90s, but never the PA45s.

I'd recommend calling VAC on the phone, weekdays during business hours. They should still be able to service those amps if needed- though, that would seem to likely be unnecessary, if they are still working properly.

I'm not sure if any upgrades or other services are available for these- but they should be able to let you know, if you call...

Regards,
Gordon.

Thanks Gordon, I'll try calling them.

The amps are perfect; I've gone through them (been servicing tube amps since the 1960's- was authorized McIntosh, Marantz, HK, etc).

I'm more interested in the history of them. I got them from the original owner, and he said they were designed to sound similar to the Marantz 8b, and were a good match for Klipschorns. I suspect the PA-45's are rare.

Gordon, thanks for the info.

Best regards,
