VAN DEN HUL CARTRIDGE MISTRACKING

Good advice and suggestions in this thread. You need to make sure everything is right with the setup (double check that cue-lever thing Mr. Pig, mentioned, have had that happen to me) and determine if the cartridge is working properly. If it indeed arrived defective you need to get in touch with the seller, you can still get your money back. If there's a local hifi shop close to you that know anything about turntables, you could have them take a look at it, they should be able to tell you if it looks OK, or even have them set it up for you (if they know their way around turntables well).
 
thank you all for your suggestions ........It's probably not the sellers fault and it won't be the first time I dropped a few hundred on Ebay......
 
Well if the cartridge arrived unusable, whether that happened during transit or it left the seller that way doesn't matter, everything that happens before the cartridge is in your hands is his responsibility. Now if you clumsed the tip off by mishandling, then it's on you :) Hopefully you'll be able to sort it out and it ends up being some setup issue. If not I hope it works out one way or another. Ebay buyer protection is very good (from the buyers perspective..) so you shouldn't ever loose money there for not getting what you paid for and what was advertised.
