Van Halen's family to search his vaults for music.

Why is this ever a bad thing? It'd be a shame to keep any work of his under wraps if it was something we fans could appreciate.

I feel the same way about Jimi and have almost every LP the family made available.

I guess if I'm making the case that not everything should be released, and I guess I am, it's because as a musician myself, some of the stuff I recorded years back wasn't for mass consumption.

The family squeezing the last cent out of every single note, to me, seems greedy and not in the spirit of musicianship.

But......that's just me. As a rabid fan, sure, I would love to hear some amazing piece from the late EVH, or JMH, or SRV.

But maybe it wasn't released for a reason.

Only food for thought, and I'm most likely overthinking it.
 
If they release an album of jam sessions and instrumentals I'll sure as hell buy it. I've often wondered why he needed a singer anyway ala Satriani and Vai.
