The irony is someone offered me a pair of Model 1's and some cash last week for my Magnepans, but the Maggies sold on their own outright, and now being able to snag these on the cheap is just icing on the cake.

Just an update...

I picked up the pair Saturday and I gotta say, I understand now why they're so well thought of.

Very nice, neutral sounding speakers. Nicely balanced with an airy top end that's absolutely non fatiguing. It really makes me want to hear some 2Ce's.

I stopped by Menards on the way home and grabbed some 1x2" oak and built some risers first thing as the originals were missing, Easy peasy.

Anyway, I'm gifting them to my daughter and son-in-law for their new house, they close on Friday. They're both into music and were somewhat surprised when I told them "these are gonna sound good in your new living room".

I can't recommend strongly enough that you get the proper stands for them. The stands provide the rake and mass loading the 1's really need to sing. Be sure to sand fill them.

I will look for the proper stands.

If my Interface C's end up not working out in my new living room, my daughter and I might do a little switcheroo, as her living room is much larger than mine at about 20'x30'.

The Vandy's sound just about right in my 12'x15' living room.
