Various tubes on eBay......

I was just curious about these RSD NOS tubes I keep seeing on eBay. They are from someone in Singapore, prices are good, and shipping is cheap.

Are these tubes any decent? Does anyone own any and know how they sound?

Thanks in advance! :puke:

RDS never made tubes, just relabelled them. Most likely are Russian or European tubes, nothing too spectacular.

I keep looking at these tubes. They look like they have triple mica, and seem well made like the NOS versions.

I don't know, for $17.50 including shipping, how can you go wrong?!

For that price you could buy used Telefunkens if you can find them. Used test strong is the way I go. You know it has been used, not failed and shouldn't unless there is something wrong in the circuit.

Those tubes might be jusy fine but ones that have a track record of 40 years are hard to beat.

If you're finding used TFKs for almost that low of a price, then please tell me where to look. I can't find any that cheap on eBay.

Thanks :D

I did go out and get a pair of these. It was a "spur of the moment" kind of thing. When I found these, they only had 1.5 minutes left to go. Was this a good find?

Seimans are good tubes but not up to the standards of Amperex or Mullards. You should find them to do a good job but won't have you jumping up and down with joy. If they are matched it is a fair price.
My tube guy sells Teles and Mullard 12AX7s for less than $20 ea unless they test new and are matched pairs with matched sides. I don't think he has anymore but you can ask.
