i called a guy on a refurbished 8500 u for 350$, it was too good to be true,, he called me and said its mine, then he called back and wanted a hundred more because people have been calling him saying hes selling it too cheap, i said its not for resale i will use it and i already had to scrape to get 350 this close to christmas, no i cant go 450, sell it to someone else. so he did, what an ass

That gets my goat. I cleaned out my mother’s house last summer, and decided to sell my 50 remaining childhood comic book collection. Turns out they were worth something, about $1.8k. I listed them for $1350 and agreed to sell them for that price to the first respondent. Numerous people offering way over my asking price, expecting me to sell to them because I would get more money. Same with some vintage HiFi sales I have made.
so it really bugs me when someone says I can have an item for the price they asked, and then they later tell me they have sold it to someone else because they offered them more money.
oh well, that’s life I suppose?

I kinda thought it was too good to be true. The seller probably had lots of calls filling her mailbox up.

Still not too bad I guess as a pair of AR-2ax speakers in Sooke have been listed for a year or so now for $455.

I think these are better propositions off usedvictoria: Cambridge R50, Tannoy D70, Lissen L520(possibly). Though not a cheap deal, price seems okay.

Hey Stan, I can put you in touch with a guy who is into reel to reels. He's up towards U Vic and I've bought some HK receivers off him and he's told me he's more into tape. Are you on Facebook?
 
Yarrrrr, hide away your island audio treasures, I be on the Island next week lol. Unfortunately I’ll be driving a giant camper lol, so no hunting for me this time around.
 
I hope someone here got the Hafler DH-200 amp and preamp, and what looked possible like a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls. All for the ungodly sum of $100 on FB Marketplace. Alas, I was too late.
