Video of your listening space

It's a fun setup. I've had the McIntosh just over two months and find it a much better match than the Benchmark/Parasound combo I had driving the KEFs prior. I find I like a little deeper extension than I can get out of them and had a hard time integrating a sub with the separates. Things are very nicely dialed in now and I'm enjoying a lot of music I've bought over the past year. Me and my little guy (the amp's only been here a couple weeks longer than him) have been having some good chill time in there.

The Diatone loudspeaker begins with 4 numbers such as 1000, 2000, 3000 ... are the good all for sounding and enjoying at home. Diatone is the famous brand name speaker which was ordered to be special monitor one in NHK - Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai a longtime ago ~70's, 80's, example: Diatone 2S-305, 2S-3003. With 4 numbers serial#, the audiophile can enjoy the nature sound at home.

Now, there're not many speakers over the world, there's not many people who owned and really like them because some of reasons:

- Driving them hardly to achive the good sound
- Transitor amplifiers could drive it well such as SanSui B2301/C2301, Nakamichi CA7/PA7, Pioneer Exclusive A09; C3/M3; C5/M5 all of them are rare to find today.
- If anyone own the Diatone speaker, but he or she does not know about the crossover then he or she will quickly forgive it. Replacing multiple capacitors inside crossover is the best progression to improve the sound performance.

If you really want to find the Diatone speaker, you can visit at hifido.jp, sometime I find they sell them in there. With Japanese shopping, you will not do anything such as replacing capcitors, repair the enclousure, ... because the Japanese do it for you.

At American, my older cousin had got the Diatone DS-V3000, she lives in California, as my suggestion, she bought Nakamichi CA7/PA7 to drive the speaker. And she has agreed with me still now. She love them as her childerns :)

Anyhow, another thread was created recently for those of us with small listening spaces in particular. As one of those members with a small space I always find it difficult to capture what my space REALLY feels/looks like with still photos. A member posted a video of their space and it did a much better job of communicating what their space was really like. So after one too many cups of coffee this fine Sunday morning I thought I'd start a dedicated thread for those of us wishing to share a video tour of our spaces with our fellow AKers.

I like to say just for the record... I started a part 2 because I've gone through that entire 1st thread at least 3 or 4 times for inspiration (many hours and days devoted), each time with more and more dead picture links, so I started a second one in hopes of a refresh with current high quality pictures, I do not feel like the original should be shut down, many are comfortable with posting there.

I like you're idea of a video thread, I may contribute in the future, I also like the Idea of a small listening space thread as I am in the same boat and I'm sure many others are.

But I had no intention of having the first listening space thread shut down, I only started mine in hopes of fresh high quality present day photos to be posted without having to go through 800 pages of possible dead links.

No worries A! I've just seen some other sites cap a thread when it becomes too large (like you I spent probably too much time getting through that initial picture thread) for the very reason you mention..lots of pics die off, and to avoid confusion on which thread to post new pics to.

It's all good though! Now get to work on your vid!!! And make sure it's not just the gear!! We want tours of the entire space as much as possible in this thread!

Well, I will capture my room as soon as possible, however, it's not listening room, it is simple a room at all, it's small and it's not sure a good for sounding.

I have always liked your room when you have posted pictures of it here. Thanks for the video. It gives more perspective of what you have there. Are you using a sub with the KEF's? Have you tried if your sub high level speaker inputs on it? I have found that using the high level inputs allows for a better integration with small monitor speakers than using the low level RCA inputs on powered subs.

Speaker: Diatone DS-2000
Amplifier: Pioneer A-09
CDPlayer: Pioneer PD-T09
Cable: Acrotec interconnect cable, Diatone speaker cable.

That was going to be my next step if I couldn't get it blended well with the McIntosh. Being that it's a cheap sub I was a little reluctant to send the signal through it's speaker taps before sending on to the KEFs. It has crossed my mind just to try it though to see if I do hear any difference.

Don't route your speaker wires to the sub and then to the KEF's. Just run a separate set of speaker wires to the sub from your amp. You are basically doing a bi-wire setup here. The input impedance on the sub is high enough to not bother the overall system impedance with your amp and KEFs. Then you can adjust the subs input sensitivity and cross over point to blend with the KEFs.
