vintage Akai prices when new?

Does anyone have an idea what the suggested retail prices where for Akai say 1976/77/78 ? I happen to have 2 pieces which I love and wanted to know what the line was worth new so I can figure what is a fair deal for used . I would love a AA 1175 or AA 1200 and perhaps a AP 206 . Thankz

The AA-1200 was $650 in 1977. The 1175 was $500. I doubt this really means anything this far down the road, but there you go.

Wow thanks! I didn't expect a response so quickly , I would love to get my mitts on either a AA1175 or AA1200 . I already have the AM/AT2600 and really dig both . By chance any idea what the AM2600 was worth back in the day? I think I read the AT2600 was $300 new . By the way I also love old Sansui products and wouldn't mind a couple of those either .

AM2600: $300 in 1978

AT2600: $325.

Not on your list, but a 4000ds was about $279 or so (on sale at Tyson's Corner) in 1976.

My gut tells me that Akai is a little under appreciated when compared to say Technics or Pioneer and Sansui .

I have this mid-fi Akai CS-703D cassette deck with piano key push controls that sounds pretty damn good actually. I need to re belt it.
