Hi Audio Folks!
I've been lurking on and off for years, and finally decided to interact with this community. I love listening to all sorts of music. I also design and build my own speakers and restore vintage audio equipment as a hobby. It helps to be an electrical engineer. I also like to think of myself as a visual artist of many types of medium (I'm also an abstract and portraiture painter, and a photographer). So naturally I've assembled hifi systems as functioning art installations, using vintage audio equipment from up to 70 years ago.
I designed and built my first loudspeaker in high school in 1997 (which I still use today, see black tower speakers below). My audiophile journey has taken me down the efficient route: high sensitivity horn speakers and low wattage tube amps. Then I took a turn to the open-baffle and full-range detour. So far, 4 of my systems have been featured in Steve Guttenberg's System of Day segment of his Audiophiliac shows.
I've attached some of my systems for context. I hope to interact and learn from this community, and get/share ideas.
