Vintage Co Axial drivers

Hi,

I've just picked up a pair of vintage speakers.
They have fairly large floorstanding cabs with a logo I can't identify: a P above a musical note. Any ideas?
Inside they have a single 8" co axial driver with alnico magnets made by Tonegen Electricworks.
The model is marked as Orion CX-8 and is 8W 8Ohm.
I've found a little about Tonegen online, but can't identify these speakers.
I'm thinking they might be very early Pioneers.

I've attached a few pics which may be helpful.

Any help/info on these would be great.

Pioneer would have an even number of spokes and windows in the basket. Early Pioneer would also say "Fukuin Electric Works" as well as have 16 ohm coils.

I'd say they were aimed at Pioneer's market.

Thanks for the replies.
Yup they are a handsome pair of speakers and they sound pretty good too.

I thought the basket looked similar to the Pioneer Pax-20a 8 but you are right aboutthe number of spokes.

I know tonegen made drivers to spec for quite a few companies, just wondering who this logo belongs to.

I have nothing useful, they do look nice though. However Im curious about the speakers in the background as those look pretty neat as well.

They are Akai SS90 panel speakers They each have four 6.5" full range drivers and a centrally mounted tweeter.

Just given them a quick clean up and rewire and they are now looking rather smart.

These Orion drivers appear to be re-branded Coral units. Similar drivers appear on FleaBay quite frequently under the Calrad brand name. The major drawback with these drivers is that the woofer cones often crack around the outer edge as the cones become stiff over time. The cone tweeters they used often sound quite decent though.
