Vintage Console ID??

Hi,
I just found myself a nice piece of vintage console.
I've spent hours searching the web trying to find a manufacturer name, a production year... But so far I have failed miserably!
The only thing I know for sure. The console (made out what looks like mahogany or rosewood) is loaded with:
- 1 dual 1009 turntable (enclosed in a rear sliding drawer
- 1 Grommes 56pg tube mono amplifier (a marvel!...)
- 1 Grommes tube receiver

The console comes with a external speaker cabinet loaded with a 12" and a midrange tweeter... it also features two beautifull sliding doors.

Have a look at the pictures attached to this post.
If you know anything about this beauty, please ring my bell!!!
Cheers
Franck (Freezing Montreal, Canada)

I don't know the value but that is a great looking console. I would think it really all depends on the components that are inside it. The furniture unfortunately does not have a great value as consoles are not in great demand.

Love the console, love all the LP storage. I am not sure about grommes equipment. Maybe its re-branded other equipment, the amp reminds me of an eico. The speaker is a Altec Capistrano, I am admiring a pair on ebay. Didn't know people bought them for mono setups.

Very nice looking console. I'm jealous. What do you know about the tube arrangement in the amp? 6V6's?

Very nice! What brand speakers is the cabinet loaded with? Most custom builds used speakers like EV, Altec, JBL, Jensen...some good stuff!

That's a custom-built console. A dealer would have been responsible for helping the buyer choose the components and then would have installed the unit in the home. I note the little Sony up on top. Can I assume that this was later added when the owners tired of maintaining the old gear?

Cheers,

David

Congratulations on the console, I have had a 56pg here for several years waiting for a mate. They seem to be fairly rare. Have fun with yours.

The sony was not part of the deal
It's a TC-230 reel to reel player I just found in a used vynil store here in Montreal... It looks like new but needs some restauration, springs are loose , wheels are dirty and all the grease had dried...
