Mn. Audiophile on a budge
Hi I have a line on pair of EV Aristocrat cabs with University Mustang 12" M12D full range drivers with wizzer cones. There are blocked off areas for horn midrange and tweeter.
I can also get a pair of EV Sentry II's with 12 inch EV SP12B woofers, and horn tweeter is an EV T-35. one of the two woofer is 8 ohm and the other one is 16 ohm.
I have a line on a pair of 825 crossovers, and another line on a pair of hd8 horns and model T-10 high frequency drivers. All original components recommended for the Aristocrat except the sb12b woofers
I wish to use the EV Aristocrat boxes and either take the full range univ. Mustang full range and figure out a crossover and horn tweeter or take every thing out of there and put the guts of the sentry II into the Aristocrat cab's except
I'm wondering about the difference in ohms on the EV SP12B? I found another of that model speaker on the bay in 16 ohm which I could buy to even up the two woofers.
In essence could I use the sentry II woofer 16 ohm EV SP12B with
original evt35 tweeter with horn in the Aristocrat box?
Or would I be better off Using the 16ohm ev sp12b woofer with 825 crossover with T-10 high freq driver with hd 8 horn in the Aristocrat?
If you click on the following link it will bring up the aristocrat box engineering .pdf file. This link shows a EV 12bw 12 In. woofer as recommended. Can I sub my ev sp12b woofer for the 12bw? Thanks, Mike .....Link is below.

EV 12BW will be pretty much the same as an SP12B up to around 1000HZ after which it will roll off where the SP12B is an extended range speaker with response up to 10,000 Hz or so.You should be good to go if you cross over at 800 Hz to the mids. JOHN
