Well, it wasn't vintage then:scratch2:. It could be tube Harmon/Kardon equipment, maybe Scott. Ritchie Blackmore was hitting some not so great notes in that clip.
 
New movie featuring vintage McIntosh

Somebody help me out with the name of the flick, but there's a new one coming out with Marisa Tomei and, I think, John C. Reilly. I saw a clip of a party scene where there's music and dancing... Marisa bends down to turn up the volume and the system has what I am pretty sure was all old Mac gear, with the all gold knobs. Beautiful stuff...

I think it is a man's name for the title. I love the advertising for it: "Seriously - Don't f*** my mom".
 
I'll have to watch this later. Doubt it would be a good idea to look at videos on YouTube with 'Playboy' in the title at my desk. :nono: I don't quite think they'd believe me if I insisted I was only looking at old stereo equipment. :no:
 
Great performance! I could spend hours looking at concert footage of the old groups on Your Tube.

You know you are an Ak'er when you are more interested in the stereo equipment then the girls at the Playboy Mansion!
 
I've seen this before- it looks like an odd mix of random 'stuff'. There's obviously a big oscilloscope and what looks to be testing gear, perhaps a shortwave set- and the kind of (non audio) things I used to see at the surplus stores in towns that build Military hardware.

First time I saw the clip I assumed it was pro recording or maybe television production gear (for making the show). Some of the pieces have that "engineering room of my old radio station" vibe- but the fact that none of it is powered on makes me second guess that,. I couldn't recognize one piece of consumer-grade, even high-end audio gear on any of the racks.

It smacks to me of a tv set assembled by someone who doesn't know anything about hi-fi- and not actually Hef's listening room. The fact that there's obviously -not- a reel to reel up there, considering the timeframe, is the clincher for me.

I have one of the "Classic Albums" doco's that includes the Grateful Dead clip. I think it was Jerry Garcia that mentions that they went around the back of the set to check the equipment out and there was nothing there..!!...it was all just a studio prop...
