Vintage Harmon Kardon Help Please!!!!!!!!!!

Came across a 3 piece Vintage Harmon Kardon set up: HK 505 Amp; HK 500 Tuner; HK 3500 Cassette Deck (silver face) in near mint condition. Seems to be overseas models based on the plugs. Any information on these pieces would be appreciated.

Do you have any pics?

I have never heard of them before. I also didn't see any specs in the manuals - maybe you could tell us the size of them.
 
Thank You for your help. I was able to locate the specs for the Cassette Deck and Amp with your help. Still looking for the Tuner Specs. Gonna have a hard time letting these pieces go. My apology for not posting prior to asking for assistance. I guess I'm more of a reader than communicator. Thanks again for your input.
 
Late seventies HK.

At the time('78/'79),the amplifier was marketed under the banner of being designed by Matti Ottala a designer who ascribed to a philosophy of low negative feed back/ultra-wideband open loop circuits.The proposal being that there is less transient intermodulation distortion in circuits of this type.Couple this with HK's dual mono power supplies and the result was a pretty good sounding amp.
I had one from the next generation and it was a stunning sounding amp.

You joined AK on 8-12-04 by posting a question about your Dalquist DQM-7 speakers. When I joined, I also started by posting a question. I guess you and I didn't show AK the normal courtesy expected of a new member. Just my bet, but almost everyone who's joined AK starts by asking a question.

Sam you are correct. I started out by asking. I was "corrected" by someone because my first few posts were questions. I was new to Forums (AK was probably my first) and made the same mistake as many others have, I asked then eventually contributed. I have noticed a few AK members politely, as I hope I did, advise a newbie that AK (and all Forums, I have come to learn), respect and are more likely to help those that give as well as take.

LarryBodyMan, if you took offence, I apologise.

That cassette deck looks awesome (even with that fuzzy picture)! I have never seen one of those before.
 
There are many of this generation of h/k items out there. eBay has at least a few a week. I would not be one to say that series is rare, but as they were not as popular as other h/k model lines, they are less numerous, but definately not rare. Larry, you did good.

While not familiar with the 3500, I have a HK 200 xm cassete unit. The thing is fairly bullet-proof and sounds fine. The filters are good and recordings can be excellent. I have not turned it on more than 5 times in the last 15 years, but it always plays and plays well. The vintage HK gear is well worth keeping, congratulations on your discovery.
