Hello everyone, I just acquired a pair of Jensen 700XL horn loaded speakers working for $50, I’ve seen they sell for over $1,000 working. Is that true?! I want more info on them if that’s possible, also, can you take these grilles off? I haven’t seen a photo of them with the grilles off. Thanks in advance, here’s a few photos attached.

Where have you seen that?

As for more info yes it's possible try searching "Jensen 700XL" I just found a bunch of info

Label says 12” Alnico magnet woofers
Take the back off one
Love to see the construction of the bass horn
Scale down Klipsch Jubilee?
Or more likely shallow horn like a Belle Klipsch
I doubt much response at 20 hz as label states

After looking at the pics on Reverb, Not Bass horn loaded, bookshelf size, and 70's era.

It's odd that they'd still be using 'cps' on the spec sheet in the 1970s (the official change from cps to Hz was in 1960, but it took hifi manufacturers several years to switch).

Cool find! I've grabbed some Jensen's over the years including my big Leslie's that have a bunch in them. Check out this book, it may have the speakers in them and those tiny horn speakers.

I remember my first Jenson Finds about 16 years ago, the thread might be on here still, two huge, heavy drivers at a monster estate sale. They were sitting in a just-started drizzle and I snagged them for .50 cents each!

There were other later Jensens, maybe a new version of the company, that some may be thinking of. They did a ton of car stereo equipment but they also had less-then-stellar floor speakers.
