Vintage Knight Speakers - Jensen e-10 Jensen rp109b Jensen c15nf

Picked up a pair of vintage knight speakers today off craigslist. Any idea of value?

I noticed them because the cabinets looked to be in very nice condition and from experience I know that Knight used Jensen drivers. I bought them from the original owner who was moving and needed to sell them. He said he did not know what drivers were in them, as he just hooked them up and used them. Of course the first thing I did when I got home was to open the back and see what drivers were in there. Everything appears to be in mint condition except for bottom back corner of one cabinet is dented.

This is what I found inside (updated with some ebay searching for solds)

Knight speaker cabinets model number KN 2380 (maybe) - (paid sold for $300 on ebay)
Jensen e-10 c7432 Tweeter SonoDome Ultra Tweeters (pair sold for $133 on ebay)
Jensen rp109b c8239 Tweeter Horn (several pairs have sold for around $35 on ebay)
Jensen 15" c15nf c8028 15" Woofer (a few sold around $50-$75 each on ebay)
Also found a few hits where 1963 vintage Jensen drivers sold for much higher each.

From what I could find online, it looks like it may be KN-2380, but no shots of the interior, just a mention of a 15" woofer. The cabinets look like they match.

These are one example of where the speakers are worth far more than their market value, and even more than what you paid. Market value might hit $50 to $75.

I was going to say the same thing - the drivers are worth more than typical garage sale/CL market value of the whole package. Which would lead some people to part them out, but if I got those excellent drivers in a good cabinet at a good price, you oughta keep em playing.

The guy also had 1 Jensen TF-3 that he gave me instead of my $10 in change.
Apparently it was a paint/stain yourself, which looks like a do it yourself finish.
I'll probably part out the TF-3 and sell the woofer as there seem to be no love for Jensen TF-3, but the woofer seems to be appreciated.

E10 C6985 2203115 Tweeter (pair from 1963 sold for $133 on ebay - I should probably keep this tweeter as a spare for the knight speakers)
Dual TF-3 Midrange (pair sold on ebay for $10)

Back to the Knights,
I am enjoying the knights, they have a 1960's high end sound that I connect with. The 15" woofers are good at making me actually feel the music. Amazing how loud they get at low volume level on a 40 watt receiver.

I will post the TF3 it for sell. But if my experience withe 60's vintage speakers holds true, I'll be surprised to see it sell. I find it surprising there is not a hot collectors market for 60's jensen drivers and knight speakers that contain them. I've seen some sell for ridiculous money to collectors in Japan but rarely in the U.S.

Just paired my KN2380s with my new vintage Marantz 2215. Heaven; Absolute Heaven. These are awesome speakers if you have the room for them.

Funny. I just got a pair of magnavox speakers as part of a package deal that have the Jensen rp109 horns in them.

2380's are a part of this complete garage system
