Vintage Luxman integrated amplifier Bass & Treble query*

The Lux is from 1982 .. far before home theater and subwoofers became common ..

We're not talking about home theater and subs for explosions. These are 2-channel sub/satellite systems, intended for music. The first sub/sat system came on the market in 1976. My CX-100 with the subwoofer output is around the same vintage as the L-400.

The original subs were mostly passive devices ..
1982 would have been early to be including a low level output for a powered subwoofer..

I guess Luxman was an early adapter, because that's exactly what my Luxman preamp of the same vintage had.

Totally likely ..
Other manufacturers followed Luxman .. they were quality and innovators before Alpine took them over in 1984 ..
