Vintage magnavox component system (cabinet)

Hey audiophiles; Looking for some advice and or direction on an old school magnavox cabinet. Definitely seems to be unique, as I haven’t found a similar cabinet online so far. Ended up getting it for 40$. Even got some bonus 8 tracks. Van Halen, Aerosmith, Steve miller band and Styx! Thought that was neat. I’ll provide a photo for your eyes to feast. (I took the lid off the fix the hinges) Anyhow I couldn’t get the receiver to power on, the person who had it obviously didn’t know jack about it. I’m hoping it’s just a bad fuse, but I’m having a lot of difficulty finding anyone with the old 1500 receiver (M#2K8886, S#4528789, RUN#2) whether for parts or otherwise. I’m thinking to sand and refinish, swap out the micromatic and the 8 track power supply lines with modern hardware. Maybe sell it for a pretty penny if I can manage any of it at all. First project of this nature so here’s to hoping. I appreciate any input you might provide!

First, I would get it working as is, as it may require more repair than you can do yourself. First, some information- From your model number this is what I have found:

Your radio/pre-amp/amplifier portion looks to be a unit that can be a standalone receiver, from the example shown in the link.
I would verify what exact chassis you have in there- probably from a paper tag or ink stamp somewhere on the back of the amplifier unit itself- Most likely a radio chassis R240xx and a power supply amplifier chassis A595 or A596, which may be together inside the same box. Here is a link for the Sams schematic for an A595 amplifier/power supply, which may or may not be helpful to your exact chassis:

The radio/pre-amp portion appears to be detailed in Sams MHF-24 book, that can be purchased for $22 (assuming it IS a R240-xx chassis) from:

As a side note, if it were mine, rather than completely modify and rework it, I would pull the chassis out and build a new case for it to be a standalone unit, since it has that capability- Here is one I did along those lines. (An option in any case.)

Anyway, since this is a relatively compact console (compared to the many much bigger typical Magnavox examples) it would be a more desireable console to have pretty much as-is, just cleaned up. (Please don't refinish it- probably just touch-up and cleaning?) Is the 8-track easily removeable? Many of these were optional accessories that slid down into a box that was otherwise for record storage, so you might be able to just remove it. Many of these consoles had an external input on the back, most likely the tape input that the 8-track plugs into, that can be used for an aux or bluetooth. The turntable is probably better just serviced than replaced, unless you set a board over the hole and put a standalone turn table in it's place. Take more pictures when you can, particularly of the back of the chassis and speakers, etc.
