Vintage Marantz Receiver Tone Controls with Schitt Loki - A cheat sheet

I just thought I'd post up a little cheat sheet I made...

Received a Schitt Loki as a Christmas gift from my wife and I quite like it in this application. The tone controls on many vintage Marantz are the same or very similar and the Loki actually compliments the frequency bands perfectly without any overlap at all. My Marantz is the 2235B but this will apply to quite a number of models. I've never been entirely happy with the band placement for the 3 tone controls on Marantz models and this combo really makes adjusting the total curve really nice without going overboard. Also since these receivers (and amps) all have the pre-out/main-in RCA functionality, adding the Loki to the chain is just as easy as larger EQ units used to be back in the day. It also has the added benefit of looking right at home with the silver-faced era Marantz (and plenty of others). (I added a tiny double piece of blue painter's tape over the white power LED so that it matches the Marantz blue.) :)

I made this graph to literally print out and leave beneath my receiver til I get used to the layout and bands. Thought it might be helpful to others.

Cheers and happy holidays all.
