That's some very nice Pioneer gear - in superb condition. The vintage Pioneer gear is highly rated for sound quality (I haven't been able to hear it for myself yet). As with any vintage gear, it will need a tune-up at some point but that comes with the territory.

I would definitely go for that set. I would bid on it myself if I didn't already have more than enough gear.
 
I don't know anything about that particular set, but I LOVE the Pioneer SX line of receivers! They sound awesome. AS far as aesthetics go, that set is super nice looking.
