Vintage Quadrophonic Gear, Pioneer Dolby 8 Track and other oddball stuff

Not sure if there is any market for this kind of gear. Does 4-channel have any devotees?

Local guy has been running an ad on CL for some time now wanting to sell all his stuff together. I contracted him and told I may be interested in his vinyl and turntables if he would sell items separately. He said he has gotten no replies and may resort to donating it to a thrift store.


I may take a look at it tomorrow.

I'm surprised no one has contacted the seller. I'd be all over the records and I wouldn't mind the Pioneer QX 949.

That Pioneer 8 track routinely sells on the 'bay for $100 or thereabouts. I've been trying to snag one for years.

Yes quad is cool and has many followers with a limited supply.

Some of the unique pieces there would be jumped on in auction.

I've recently have gotten into quad. I would love to have that QX 949. I already have a QX 747, but that 949 would be sweet to have.

I think the seller has had trouble with his sale because he did not want to break up his system .Now that he has had zero interest he is willing to break it up. I hope to get a look at his stuff soon.

If this gear has been in storage for 25 years then it is NOT in "excellent" condition. No car that has sat for 25 years would be fit to drive. Similarly with audio gear, they will need restoration to function reliably.

The condition may well be excellent. Condition is not an indicator of functionality and there are thousands if not millions of perfectly functioning, excellent condition items of hifi that are well over 25 years old and untouched.
