Vintage Sansui 9090 Receiver

There's one up on my local classifieds for $450. From what I can see, it seems to be in good condition cosmetically, seller says it works perfectly. Should I pick it up? Anyone have any experience with this receiver?

$450 is pretty decent for local. They often need lights and the selector switch gets pretty dirty. Either way, $450 is worth it if you want a nice powerful vintage receiver.
 
Good deal. I would prefer a 8 Deluxe over that. But, I wouldn't be disappointed with a 9090.
 
How much do you guys think it's worth? I've got a monster receiver already, so it wouldn't be filling any holes. I'm debating if this is a good enough deal to snatch it up, maybe resell later depending on how much I like it.
 
You should check eBay completed sales for a price reference. As EastPoint said, $450 is a pretty decent price. They weigh a ton, so a no shipping, local deal is good too. I have a 9090DB that I bought on AK a few years ago for about the same price. It worked on delivery, but I ended up putting another $200 into it for unexpected repairs. I am happy with it.
 
Bar none, it is one of the best of vintage receivers, IMO. Not the most powerful, but it does everything quite well. Sufficient grunt to power most speakers and makes them sound great. I have some bigger powered amps, but I often go back to this receiver.

They're neat receivers. I'm honestly not a huge fan--it's just too big and too complicated for me, but I have a soft spot for the little 15-25 watt receivers and generally don't like stuff that hangs over the edge of my shelf.
