Vintage Sony D-50 Discman - need help

I recently have a Sony D-50 Discman - The World First Portable CD Player. It is a very nice vintage guy but does not work.

It have a very durable design (metalic case and cover). I am trying to restore it and looking for its Service Manual and Schematic Diagram.

I have been looking for the old original walkman and that discman,,, are they that hard to find? I remember a rich kid in summercam had one of those in the mid 80s.. I remembered how good it souinded. How much are they going for?

I still have the one I bought in Okinawa in, like 1985 or 86. Works like a champ. I also have a parts unit. What seem to be the issue(s) with the one you have?

Mine skips on occasion. Repair shop said it was the laser "cross-feed" drive mechanism. Since it's not a 'daily driver', I didn't dive into that parts nightmare. I have the base station, but sold the battery case shell fairly quickly after acquisition.
