Vintage Sony SS-890 Speakers - Anyone know anything about them?

SS-890's

Really can't say how much they are worth. to the right person they are worth alot. To others nothing. I would imagine there are vintage auidophiles out there that may want them for their collection.

I have a pair of sony ss s-890

I bought a pair when I was stationed in Japan in 1980. 19" woofers. Contact me if interested.

I have heard some of these big Sony's and Kenwoods...lots of sound... but not the best sound! Some seemed to be lacking in over all quality of the sound.

Looks like I'm a bit late getting in on the Sony SS 890 conversation (2017) picked up a set today from the local classifieds. Was interested in them because there are no others around that I have seen. In good condition. Hooked them up to a Luxman 1050 and cranked them, they do get loud without distortion but they don't sound as good as my CV re 30s. The Vegas are the only good speaker that I have had but haven't had many. Weird thing is the tweets are in their own box and come off of the top of the woof box. The top box says SS-860 the bottom says SS-890? Any feedback or opinions would be appreciated and fun.
