First time poster - long time lurker...
I would like to gift my daughter a system for a housewarming gift - she is getting her own place and has come to appreciate vintage gear. It is an apartment, and she doesn't like it loud. She is a big fan of indie music, so I think that plays well with a system from the late 70s. Receiver would ideally be silver faced, wood sides, and low wattage. It would not need any special features like preamp ins or outs, a lot of inputs, or even a decent tuner (or tuner at all) as she doesn't listen to radio. It would be bluetooth only (I have that part figured out). A underappreciated brand or model to save some money would be great, as she is more about the aesthetic. I'm not afraid to clean one up.
For speakers, definitely bookshelf, lighter colored wood, maybe even a tweed fabric. Could go newer too if they look vintage.
Looking for recommended components from the group.
