The original author of www.vintagetechnics.com took his site offline numerous times because he hated eBay and other users linking to images on the site. Eventually domain name ownership went to internet scavengers. We resurrected the site from our archives for the benefit of the audio community. When time allows, we intend to update Technics database with numerous additions. StereoManuals has a large number of Technics Service Manuals and other literature. If you do not support us via manuals purchases, please consider making a small donation to help cover bandwidth expenses for the Vintage Technics pages.

This site is here in homage to our friend Mark, who lovingly created and maintained Vintage Technics for many years. Because Mark's interests have changed, instead of dropping the site altogether, he has graciously given us his express permission to upload the original site to this new URL, and also supplied us with his last updated disc for the website. It is because of his graciousness, that those who love vintage Technics gear will still be able to access all of his work and dedication!

The latter seems to be done exclusively as a service to the community, and the former does too, albeit in a different, marginally profit-oriented manner.

It looks to me a bit like StereoManuals is hosting without permission, because they also host a former Phase Linear site, and about that they say "Anthony Young is a friend and the author the former www.phaselinearhistory.com web site. He lost ownership of the domain name and his original files. With his blessing, we have resurrected the site."

Just curious if anyone knows anything about this and what your thoughts about this situation are.

More is betterer?

Seems similar to the 'they're out of print and not maintained by the manufacturer, so we should be able to copy and resell manuals without a problem' situation/line of thought.

Thanks for the heads up!
