Buyer beware - I thought this looked familiar - from the Denver Craigslist - https://denver.craigslist.org/emd/d/denver-im-selling-my-record-collection/7122134452.html

I'm Selling my Record Collection LP + Singles + Box Sets

I have a collection of Rock, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Dance, Disco, Movie and Broadway Soundtracks, Big Band, Vocal Pop LP Albums, 12 Inch Singles and EPs and Box Sets plus 7 Inch Singles. Country, Classical, Opera, Comedy, ect. There are some rare ones here: Autographed, Colored Vinyl, Radio Station Promos and more. Stored upright in a smoke-free home in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. I clean my records before and after playing.

I'm not making deals or selling as a lot, each record has it's own price. I can also mail any album or single or box set anywhere in the USA for you. Write me for a list.

He's cleaned and listened to every record, but most are still sealed?

"Rock, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Dance, Disco, Movie and Broadway Soundtracks, Big Band, Vocal Pop LP Albums, 12 Inch Singles and EPs and Box Sets plus 7 Inch Singles. Country, Classical, Opera, Comedy, ect"

I'd like to see the list, 10 years of buying collections has taught me that if it contains soundtracks/big band/classical/easy listening then it's almost always rubbish.

Given how the ad has been written is it not possible he simply posted at many major cities country wide?

Lord knows I would consider doing so if I was willing to ship and wanted reasonable market value and took the time to listen grade document every lp.

Not saying it couldnt be a sham but I feel this is very possibly legit given how it's not painfully obviously a scam like 90+% of clist scams.

Who knows. That pic sure came from a listening room of someone who gave a damn. That much is certain.

I was going to say something, but then that Tineye search made me shut my mouth. Nice tool!

At a minimum, stolen image.

However, I do understand someone not willing to do a bulk sell if they had spent all that time and energy in maintaining it.

I have just gone through my collection of 1500 records (I think I may have up to 300 more) and pulled out almost 500 records to sell. If you sell individually, you maximize your return. If you sell in bulk, maybe $1 to $3 per record. If I could sell my record collection for even the minimum Discogs value, I could get $10000! No way I would get more than 2-3000 if I sell in bulk.

But I have a strategy. Any records that I deem worth more than $30, I will sell individually. The rest I am willing to part with in a bulk buy. That will give me the best of both worlds!

Funny thing of tineye's 44 hits craigslist is not part of the results I noticed.

Another useful image comparator in the sea of em.

Given how often pics on the net get saved by so many and used for who knows what. I can see how the results dont paint a definitive story in many cases.

Dunno if it's real or not. I need to sort through my massive collection and not in the buyer realm. I'm kinda scared to begin that one lol.
