Virtual Dynamics Revelation Speaker Cable Question

I’m considering accepting these cables with some cash in trade for some speakers I’m selling, but I’m concerned that the sharp bend at the end of the cable on the right could have damaged the cable. From what I’ve read, it’s a 6 gauge wire.IMG_6991.jpeg Would anyone else have the same concern as me? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thanks for the feedback! I would be meeting them in person, so fortunately I do have that option. What exactly am I feeling for? Would it be fairly obvious?
 
Bring a meter to check continuity as you flex the end of the cable back and forth a bit.

This will let you know if the connection is going bad.

Mostly feeling loose or soft when compared to the others. I suspect that the bend is a result of how they were connected since spade s have to be at a right angle to the post unlike bananas. But I don't get why at least one other doesn't look that way.

I guess the bent one was the only one in a tight spot.

These cables are very stiff, I have a set of Davids, and when I see that one bent the way it is makes me think it's compromised.

Use a meter and flex it to see if it loses continuity.

Stiff.

Thanks for the multimeter idea! I’ll definitely use that to make sure it’s not compromised. He said there’s no issue at all and offered for me to hook it up and make sure before purchasing, so that’s some solid peace of mind.

@kwayde Appreciate the visual and the word of caution! How do you like those Davids?

@whoaru99 I wondered the same thing! I kept trying to visualize it more in line with the rest, but couldn’t decide. I’ll obviously check that once I actually see them, which will hopefully be tomorrow morning.

One of mine was intermittent and I had to take an end apart to resolder a bad connection. This was a long time ago but if memory serves me right the stiffness is due to a thick, clear tube the wires run through. The tube is a good thickness which is why they don't bend very well. That's why I'm not comfortable with the bend in that one cable.

I really liked the Virtual Dynamics cables I used. What got me on them was I was given a $300 power cable of theirs years ago when the owner gifted one to a bunch of us that were discussing cables on an Audiogon forum.
Once I got the power cable the bass increased so much when I connected it to my CD player I couldn't believe the change. I next bought a set of speaker cables which did the same thing, increased the lower end.
The increase in bass was too much in my system so I had to let them go and find something different. I really liked the cables other than the increased bottom end.

Increased the bass so much that an adjustment of the bass control wouldn't decrease it?

Thanks for the specific info! When I got tube monoblocks with the KT120 tubes it did the same thing to my system, but fortunately I do have tone controls to back it off if I feel the need with these cables.

I’m not super handy with that stuff, but I’d consider trying out what you did if that one end is indeed compromised.
