Going to recap an amp and this one uses a can cap in the voltage doubler for the HV supply. Best I can tell, it's wired up as in the lower left panel, with C1 & C2 being the common ground can cap.
Since I'm going to try restuffing the can I have leeway in how I wire up the replacement caps.
Based on trying my hand at LTspice simulation, the connection method of the doubler in the lower right panel appears advantageous from a ripple voltage and ripple current standpoint.
Is there any reason I should not (or can't) go with the HV doubler configuration shown in the right panels?
(the vertical and horizontal axes of the two wave graphs are the same)
