Got home from a really hard pressed week of work today, cracked open a bottle, opened a pack of smokes and lit up the Number One stereo setup. Started with a relaxing Haydn album but then switched gears over to Led Zeppelin One, side two, and from the get go decided to push the speakers to possibly damaging volume. They held up. Next was Tijuana Brass, The Lonely Bull track... then Peter Gunn, the theme track... then on to Ellington at Newport, the last long track on side two. I wish my old Dad could have heard it at this volume.
Then wife came in from work and turned down the volume, claiming she could hear all the neighbours slamming their windows shut. She keeps the peace around here, I guess, but it sure is fun before she gets home on Friday.
