Volume knob "blocking" at zero moves below zero

So the volume knob on my Yamaha CA-610 should block at 0, but the point at which it blocks moves past (below) 0 gradually. The knob itself is aluminum, behind it is a transparent plastic part, which has the red indicator line (not visible in the photo), that I can move around pretty much freely if I hold on to the knob itself and keep it in place. Doing this I can set the "blocking point" back to 0, but like I said it keeps creeping below 0 as I use it.

Is this an issue with the potentiometer itself? Or the knob?

I'm trying to remove the knob but I'm struggling a bit with the two sunk screws that keep it in place.

Most likely the 'skirt' should be attached to the knob, but has come adrift. Removing the knob and gluing it back into place should be all that's needed.

OK I managed to remove the knob itself. It looks like the plastic part with the indicator line was glued to inside of the knob and the glue is just worn. I wonder if this is an original knob though, seems a bit iffy to glue it on the volume knob.

Yes, that's the original knob and, whilst I'd say it's not necessarily the best solution, it's not uncommon for it to be done like this.
