Have you ever heard a pair? Just curious if your experience was different from mine....

I found a pair locally that didn't have crossovers. I tried to restore them. Had all the surrounds professionally replaced and made up some crossovers.
Long story short, they sounded like crap. I tried the SS-1B and even though they had the legendary Jensen P15 LL drivers, they had no bass.
The SS-1 were not very extended and didn't sound like the Jensen Duette as I had hoped.

Ended up parting out the drivers and wishing it would have turned out. Kind of an ugly speaker, but also cool for the retro styling and I liked the "kit" aspect that reminds me of the 50's.
