Ok. Still AB, but running the tubes cooler at idle.
Fun thing about biasing amplifiers is finding out how the bottom would fill out when you finally got it warm enough.
Not talking about cranking them hot, more like dude's MiG50 had never been adjusted and the 5881s were pulling 13ma and I turned it up to 30ma.

Guess that's a roundabout way to say "please don't cool your SVT down so much you lose the bass", cuz that's the point of the whole thing, right?

Been loving the new issue Tung Sol 6550. They've been in just about a year, and I'll likely replace with the same when the time comes.

Are they Labeled Tung-Sol who is the maker any idea ? any idea of there assembly stages. are they 1, 2, 3 build periminters compared to original Tung-Sol they changed several items including plating, getters numbers 2 or 3 and location in the tubes, the shape of the getters the D shape O shape, two D shape on 1 side and 1 D shape on top in 1 tube. black plate or grey plate, then there is the holes ??

I tried a quad of KT-88 EH had many new tubes in them when repairing and testing, got them home they did not sound right I put the original tubes a pair 6550 Tung-Sols,
RCA 12BH7A, Mullard EL-34, GE 12ax7 thats what Ive been looking for the sound was and is amazing now.....all 1959 tubes i did buy a pair of 7025 tung-sol 1959 not to my liking.

They're definitely labeled Tung-Sol 6550. Made in Russia. Grey plates, the metal bands say 24 02, looks like two o-shaped side getters. I'm running them in a bi-amp setup with a silver mica inline high pass filter at about 60hz in a modded pair of Dyna/VTA amps, so they don't get deep bass, but everything above that sounds sublime to me in the current situation. EH 12BH7a driver tubes, solid state rectifiers. It's always subjective, but have preferred these over NOS Siemens EL34, EH-EL34, EH6550, Gold Lion KT66, and even over the new issue Tung Sol 7581A which I liked quite a bit.
