Does anyone know where I can buy VPI RCM Vacuum Tube Replacement Felts BESIDES Disc Doctor? Thanks, Bob

Hello Bob, I know of nobody else selling such. Products, such as the replacement pads for the Mo-Fi, and Disc Doctor Brush pads will not be long enough to use on the Vacuum Wand, I've checked this, and as well, searched for other sources, other than Disc Doctor, to no avail.

I'm sure the velvet material can be gotten, but the problem is, nobody markets it, with the peel, and stick adhesive backing.

The only other souce i know of in the world, for replacement strips for the VPI, or other vacuum wands, is Yip in Hong Kong, the maker of the MintLP Best Arc Protractor.
His replacements must be glued onto the wand with a special glue.

But, maybe?, the only other possible source that comes to mind, is Nitty Gritty, as they sell replacements for thier own machines. Whether that material is suitable for the VPI, I imagine the folks at NG can tell you. Considerations of course, is whether thier replacement strips are long, and wide enough? Hope this helps. Mark

Hi Mark. Are you saying that this product (which I've seen on several sites besides Elusive Disc, which has them on backorder) won't work?

Hello Butternutty
Yes, this is what this thread is basically based upon, where my ole Chicago friend Cactus Bob asked if there were other sources, other than the ole Dr Duane Goldman of Disc Doctor.

I have bought these, they come as a 4-pack for $15, which is not bad. I credit our good forumite "Meggy", for giving many of us the heads up, on where to acquire them from.

When I bought them, about 10 months ago, Duane was involved in a massive flood in his business, so mucho remodeling was taking place at the time.

So, I had to wait almost a couple weeks, but I suspect Duane's up, and running as of present, his current shipping status is virtually the next day from order right now.

The Disc Doctor has been around a mighty long time, this fella knows his stuff, and hasn't stayed in business this long, by not providing top notch products, and backing them. He comes with my recommendation, and I myself will of course do business with him again in the future. Mark

I just go to an arts and crafts store and buy a 1/2 yard or smaller quantity of velvet, cut it into strips and use either two sided tape or spray adhesive and it works just fine.

Its a whole lot cheaper on a per unit basis and you've got enough quantity to last a very long time.
