Hey guys really need some help. So my vtv dual triode characterizer gain meter needle is toast. My tech friend tested the continuity and there isn't any. Am I just sol? If anyone has advice on what the heck I can do ie If a replacement meter may still exist somewhere or if you have a dead vtv tester or meter please let me know. It's one of my favorite testers and mine was in great shape well cared for serial #76.

The VTV testers were of recent construction, so most likely a fairly standard meter movement like a 500 microamp movement. Have you opened it up to see if the meter is labelled?

You may want to contact the person who built the VTV characterizer back in the day. He just made me a new octal board for mine. PM me for his email address.

They are great preamp tube testers. Mine is #074.

Reviving an old thread - I picked up a VTV tester that didn't have any documentation or owner/user manual - does anyone have a scan or copy available they could share?
