I spent the afternoon recapping and cleaning pots on a pair of W40D's I found at an estate sale a few weeks ago. I was hoping that this would bring one of the tweeters back to life. Alas, it was not to be. Tomorrow I will check it with a meter to see if it truly is dead. It's the purple dome tweeter I read a little about here. I have time to wait until I find a pair for sale but am curious if anyone has swapped them for something new and what was it? Also, the knurled nuts for the binding posts are missing on one pair also. How hard are these to find? I prefer to stay original but also realize age and wife's tolerance levels for projects may necessitate making do.
