How in the world does someone invest 4 grand into a piece of kit that you only can show a $1400 repair bill for? He expects us to believe he paid $2600 for a broken BA-5000?

There will always be statistical outliers in any market. In other words, these guys (presumably) are nuts - but there are plenty of examples of equally wacky postings in the past. That being said I seem to be recognizing an up-tick in asking prices of older audio equipment. Another way to say this is that I used to see lots of stuff on craigslist that was both interesting and affordable. There is still a lot of stuff that is interesting.

as i stated before, craiglist is free. so throw your line out and see if you get any nibbles.im sure they will change their bait when they don't get any bites.

Truth. There's no rule about being a knowledgeable audio-guy and making sure you give everyone the fairest deal in the world.

Someone will always overpay and someone will always scroe.

5K for a BA-5000 is absurd from any perspective.

That Kenwood TT OTOH, the price is a good bit, but probably in the ballpark or at least close w/the arm and cart.

The Kenwood 500 and 600 are damn good TT's.

He should invest a few bucks in a decent digital camera. When you're asking that kind of money people expect decent pictures. Well...... -I- expect them anyway...
