wall mount or shelf?

I'm setting up a quad system in my bedroom, and it's going to use acoustic suspension bookshelf speakers. All actually have wall hanging mounts on them. (2x EPI 100, 2x Advent 3. going to use the EPIs as the fronts)

would you:

a) hang the speakers on the walls
b) make corner shelves for all of them?

I think I know what may sound better but looking for input here.

shelves seem more flexible to me. Lets you use different speakers, tweak the angle, etc.

My accoustic suspension bookshelf speakers (Jensen 24 3 way with 12 inch woofer) sound much better on a stand about a foot off the ground, 3 to 4 feet from the wall. Opens up the sound stage significantly. Just sayin....getting them out from the wall may be a good thing, if you can.
