Waving a hand from Downtown Flint Michigan

Welcome to AK from a transplanted Michigander!
My grandparents lived for years in Lapeer and I still have cousins and an aunt and uncle that live in the Genesee County area.

I did not.

I don't get to Flint very often but I have a fondness for the Cultural Center. Aside for the bad neighborhoods, that all cities have, Flint has a lot going for it. The library is definitely one of Flint's assets and the remodeling should be very nice. :rockon:

I-69, on the other hand, must be hell on those stone wheels and bare feet. :rolleyes:

Thanks for the welcome Wolverine!! coolbeans eh :) I have friends that went to west HS and live off Elba rd. Spent a few Saturday nights in downtown at the car cruze too...always good folks and great times out that way

I still even align my socks and underwear in their draw just like in basic.
I was just a greasmonkey and never seen the front lines, let alone any action.
But the skills I got there still to this day help me in my job as a mechanic for the City

Yah it is nice down there... I still like to take in a laser show at the planetarium, and my daughter works at the FIA.. I live in one of the better neighborhood off W Court st not far from the old Chevy in the hole.. Between the U of M Mott and Kettering they have really cleaned up a lot of places throughout town.... and the DOT has I-69 all tore up redoing all the pavement and exits from Dort to Hammerburg....I think we already have hit bottom and are on our way back :)

When you're in town you have to tune into Kettering's radio station WKUF 94.3...they play every type of music with no commercials... there on the web too...https://wkuf.fm/

As an added note my Uncle was the AD Director at Swartz Creek HS for several years until his unfortunate passing at way too young of age. I could have been born in Otisville but my parents thought a hospital birth was the way to go so I was born in Marlette which may be the only time I have been to Marlette. :D
