weak channel

today I put my qx 8000 in place of my Yamaha cr 640 and it has a weak channel but only when I use the AUX it is fine with the TT,tape decks only when I use the CD player it shows weak on the meters for the left side might there be something wrong with the selector switch??

First things first. Have you verified that the weak signal is not coming from the source? How long has it been sitting and when was the last time the controls has a good cleaning? If the source is confirmed good I would start with DeoxIT in the controls and clean the aux inputs.
 
If you plug the CD into the AUX do you get the same issue? Try it to make sure it isn't the source. Also first determine it is not a cable issue.

If all is well then you can start to look at the selector switch as the culprit.
 
got it. turn out it was a bad cable I switched right and left around and the right channel got weak much better
