weighing DL110 with headshell and weight

Ray Kane

Left-handed step child
I have a Technics 1210 and getting ready to mount my Denon DL110 cartridge to a Technics stock headshell.

I placed the headshell, cartridge, mounting screws and weight on the scale and it came to 14.83 grams.

Options are to eliminate the weight (1.42 grams) and/or to use nylon mounting screws (.63 grams but add weight of the nylon screws)

basically is there a weight I should aim for?

Well, according to the manual the range for shell and cartridge that the 1200 is comfortable with is 11 to 14 grams so I would remove the weight. You should be right in the sweet spot whether you use the nylon screws or not.
