Weird sound coming from my Marantz 2215 receiver

Hi all I am getting strange high pitched static/feedback sound out of my right speaker. Sometimes if I stand right up to the receiver, it goes away. I have passive Advent/3 speakers (if that matters). If there isn't a record playing you can really hear it. I don't know how to really describe it, I tried to load a video of it but am unable. Any advice in a remedy to the situation is greatly appreciated! Cheers

Yes, I plugged the RCA cables into AUX turned the knob to from PHONO to AUX and the noise persisted.

Can you hear it on FM? If not, try some different cables, or better yet, different cables and different input device to rule them out.

I previously had a Pioneer pl112d turntable hooked up to it with brand new RCA cables. Now I have an AR/XA hooked up to it and yeah, made that sound then, makes it now too.

Edit: I’m out welding right now, so I cant check it on the FM setting till I get home.

Dimmer switch or fluorescent lights in the room where it is at? What is the history of the unit if known?

Tried it on FM, sound is still there. No dimmer or fluorescent lights in the room at all. The machine was rebuilt months ago and I treat it well.

Possibly it's coming from a wireless router or the like? Try turning all computer stuff off.

Can you unplug, rotate wall plug-in 180 degrees and plug back in?

I’m really starting to think it’s an interference issue. I live on the top floor of an apartment building and there are cell antennas on the roof (extra income for my landlord) and my wife says she hears it coming from our old GE radio in the kitchen when she listens to NPR in the morning. Would removing the antena on the back of the 2215 help the situation? I don’t really listen to the tuner anyway.

My cell phone causes all kinds of sounds through my speakers when I have it right next to a receiver or use to play Spotify etc. Unless it is in airplane mode and I am playing music downloaded on to my phone.
