C2300: run balanced or single-ended?

I have a C2300 on order that was purchased from a 2nd hand party. Very excited to get it into my system and try it out! I was looking for advice on interconnects, and whether to run balanced or not. I am pairing it with a set of Rogue M150 monoblocks, which have a balanced input, but according to Rogue, the amps sound the same via balanced or single-ended. My source is a digital Modwright Sony, also single ended. Should I run balanced through the C2300, or would it make a difference? Cables are currently Cardas Golden Reference. I would probably have to borrow a balanced IC for the amp-preamp connection.

I will let you know how it sounds.

need help with a McIntosh MC-2205

Hi all,

need help for a meter circuit repair MC-2205.
What "real" type is the IC named 133-068 ?
It's an operational amp......guess a uA741 pin circuit.

thanx

The C2300 in not a fully balanced preamp, although it a great one. As long as your interconnects are not super long, I don't think it will matter too much. Cardas Golden Refs are great interconnects. I use them to. The Rugue is a great amp. I would not use inferior balanced interconnects. Let us know what balanced cable you try. Good Luck.

Hello All,
I have not been here for some time but I thing this is a great site. I was given a MC 1500 that has some problems but I have been sick for a while and no time to work on my equipment.
I will start soon and will need some help with things the schematic does not say.
Thanks,
Jesse
