Well, I'm a Papaw !!

Well, she has had 6 so far-we think they're all little boys. They're each about the size of a large mouse-Morticia looked she was about to BUST the last week or so, she's ordinarilly so small. I think we'll have her "fixed" after this is over-Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.When she had the 1st one this AM, & there was obviously more to come, I anxiously called John the Vet to see if there was anything we could do...No, he said, just make sure the sac was off their noses so they could breathe, Mother Nature would take care of the rest..And that's pretty much how it went down. Mama & pups were resting peacably, last I checked.
 
They are all a sort of a grayish/black/brown color, w/varying white "socks" & white patches on the chest, save for one who is white w/black splotches. Really haven't fooled w/'em too much, don't think I should. We've got them & the mama in a big box, we let her out every so often. Gomez wants to play w/them, but I'm afraid he'd hurt them. The mama has had a pretty voracious appetite today, & I'm sure she's tired. I heard her yelp a couple times this morning when the 1st one was born, she'd squeak just a little when another one was about to come, otherwise showed no signs of distress. Like I said, though, she REALLY wanted Lauriann right w/her the whole time they were being born...I guess she was OK w/me being there, too, but she really thinks she's Lauriann's dog...And Lauriann is HER "person".
 
Been away almost all day and missed this Sandy, congratulations on the new additions. There's not much better than little puppies, and watching them grow. Enjoy them!
 
Lauriann moved the whole kit 'n' kaboodle to the spare bathroom for the night..The pups are in the tub, on a blanket, & the mama can hop out, get something to eat & then get back in w/them.

Missed this yesterday, Sandy. Great news!! Puppies are a hoot. We will, of course, still want pictures!:yes:
