Werner Jagusch Crossover Schematic?

Hey AK

I purchased some custom solid teak speaker cabs that already had a Werner Jagusch 2-way XO installed.

They were bought to accommodate my Altec 288-8G and 515B drivers.

I had a buddy come over with a directional mic, pink noise generator and some software installed on his laptop to try to get these tuned in.

I essentially stood behind the speakers and moved the horn and woofer wires to the different taps on the XO until he got readings he approved of.

We finally got them tuned-in according to the computer, though I was never quite satisfied with the bass.

These cabinets are probably too big to accommodate the 515 woofer's required pressure. They have 4 5X2" oval-shaped ports on a removable 3/4" bottom cover.

I believe they will need larger ports and some port tubes to allow for better pressure and air flow. My buddy ran the interior dimensions through his computer program, which spit out that two 6.5" holes that are 1.5" deep will be needed. I've plugged 3 out of 4 of those oval ports in the meantime.

Anyway, I'm working on that part too, but I wanted to reach out to the AK universe to see if anyone had a copy of the schematic for this particular Werner Jagusch XO...

I can then make sure that all the correct taps are hooked up and move on to cabinet issues such as baffling and new port holes/port tubes.

If anyone has anything to share, anything at all, please let me know!

Not sure that a schematic is available for the crossovers from Werner, but it should be pretty easy to figure out. The picture below is labeled with the letter A for amp connections, W for woofer and H for high frequency driver. The high frequency taps on the right side of the crossover (red wires) increase in loudness as you move from right (softest) to the left (louder). The crossover in the picture is not for the same drivers as yours, but his crossovers have a consistent layout. The pic was snagged from ebay...

I guess there are only two taps for the woofer, and other than inverting the polarity, there is not much else to do to crossover the woofer any different with this XO without modifying it...

I added 2" Owens Corning 703 fiberglass insulation on the the lower half of the cabinet to shrink the cab size and add baffling.

I'll get cracking on new ports and tubes, should tighten everything up.

I believe that your crossovers have two taps for the woofers, take a look at the pic below. Not exact, but close.

Oh, there you go - I can see from your pic (thank you so much) that I currently have my 515b's crossed over on what we'll call based on that schematic, the "B2" tap.

Unfortunately I cannot make out what frequency is assigned to B2 from your pic, but I'd have to assume that it's somewhere between 200 and 500Hz...

Anyway, as my XO only has two woofer taps, B2 is probably 500hz, and B1 is probably 200hz (guess).

500 hz is what I want. I'll just leave it.
