Just found a pair of these for sale locally, but don't know anything about them. I've looked them up, and seen mixed reviews.
Anyone have any experience with these?
Also, impedence is listed at 6 ohms...could this be a problem for a typical 8 ohm receiver?
I really don't have much technical knowledge, so any info would be greatly appreciated and helpful.

Asking price? Your amp should handle them. Check the back for recommendations on the amp.
I have never owned a pair but if you need speakers they will work but speakers like that were entry level when new. $300 max new. So price on these would be a big deal.
I have flipped speakers like this for about $100 in the past. I would never pay it but somebody will.

He's asking 200...I've got a small-ish pioneer sx680 that uses 30wpc at 8ohms. They look to be in good shape, but I'm hesitant for 2 reasons: 1) I don't wanna mess up my receiver for mediocre speakers 2) if they're not worth the cash, I'd be pretty pissed for wasting 2 bills.
I'm learning, but still not technically savvy enough to make these decisions without asking.
 
Don't take offense, but I would look for an upgrade for the 680. It's a decent unit, but you can do better.
And I have had, and briefly used a couple SX 680's.....

Look for a package deal. Might get a better amp and speakers all in one shot.

Budget is my only caveat. I could get a better receiver, or speakers but not both, at least not for a while. I've really been on the hunt for a Harmon Kardon 630 or 930 but most times those are out of my limited budget. I would part with the Pioneer if I could find an HK though.
I've been out of work since June due to a ruptured brain aneurysm and I'm having further surgery next Wednesday the 11th.
This may all be moot since I could die or have a stroke, in which case, it won't really matter o_O

From what I've read in the past, they put out a decent sound, but as E2 pointed out, they are not in that price range today.

An EVO would be a better upgrade.
