Wharfedale Speakers - Best model for the money?

Hi,

Building out a new budget system. Figuring out which entry TT to buy but have roughly settled on a U-Turn with a Grado Black.

Knowing this, I was wondering if someone could shed some light if its worth the extra $150 to go for the Wharfedale Anniversary Bookshelf vs. the Wharfedale Diamond 220's.

I haven't listened to either of them but I have spent a ridiculous amount of time researching new Wharfedale stand mounted speakers. I just ordered a pair of Denton Anniversary Edition. They arrive in 3 days, so I can't provide a real world report on those until after my mega vinyl weekend. For me, the toss up was between the Diamond 10.2 and the Denton Anniversary. Something about the bottom firing bass on the 220's worries me. However, if you are ready to spend that cash, Music Direct has a demo set of 220's for $280. You can audition them and send them back if they don't float your boat. Looking at the specs between the Denton and the 220 side by side, they look nearly identical. My guess is they are going to sound the same with the 220's being a slight bit more bright/technical/sharp and the Denton's a little more warm and fuzzy. I think the extra money is mostly just getting you a nice walnut veneer.
