Wharfedale Super 3 Tweeter Resoration

Hi guys,

I'm a happy W70B owner who's put a fair bit of love into these speakers. One of the super 3's has always distorted a bit, but recently it's gotten too bad to bear. I've always assumed it was a little blown from before I got them, but I don't abuse the speakers and it's continued to get worse slowly. However, I'm hopeful I've found the issue after a careful inspection of the glue surrounding the voice coil. The glue is hard, and has some gaps that could be vibrating and causing my issue. Does anybody have experience removing this glue? Its yellowish, and almost feels like it would've been a similar viscosity to shoe goo back when it was applied. I want to redress it but I don't want to just burry the problem under more glue.

All advice and suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,

Matt
