What Are The Most Attractive Pair Of Speakers You've Ever Seen?

Larsen 8 speakers. They come as a right speaker and a left speaker, and sound as good as they look. I've owned a pair since 2016:

I've always preferred speakers with a simple aesthetic. Something along the lines of vintage KLH & AR, a basic wood box with a black or wheat colored grill.

JBL Lancer 88 Nova. Strikingly good looking (and not bad sounding). The combination of rectangular and circular black grills and veener face with no edge is classic.
And the AR 4 and 4x, simple as they are, have beautiful proportions - not sure any other speaker got it as right.

Anything in Sonus Faber's middle to upper lines. Overall fit and finish are unmatched, and they sound as good as they look.

Lucky Pierre - those Stephens Trusonic (?) speakers have a similar idea, but are way busier and the colors and proportions are not as harmonious. Of course, for all I know, they may sound better.

I owned the baby Larsen Model 4.2 for about six years, loved them! I am sure the 8’s were much better! Good to see some Larsen love here!
No one I know has ever heard of them, until I was asked by our family friend Fritz, who is from Austria, what speakers I own. When I told him, he said, "Ach, ja, Lahson. Of course, everyone in Europe has heard of Lahson". Reply to be envisioned with a heavy Austrian accent.

They are amazing speakers. They sound best pushed up to within an inch or two of the wall behind them, and maybe a foot or two from a perpendicular wall to their right or left, depending on which side speaker you're setting up. That gives you a lot of flexibility with placement. But the best thing is that they have no 'sweet spot' (a finite and specific area your ears have to be in when listening to a pair of speakers for optimum result). They turn the whole room they're in into a sweet spot, and they don't sound bad either if you're standing in rooms next to where the speakers are, just like my last speakers (4 larger Advents wired in series). That means I can play air guitar!!! And it all sounds incredible, no matter where I am.

Sweet spots are for jazz and classical 'affectionados', not for the rest of us who are into rock, blues, and heavy metal. And certainly not for people who play air guitar.

I have a pair of M-, or maybe... brand new 1970 Sansui SP-2000 that look absolutely beautiful, wood vainer with the wooden lattice grills - in the original boxes, all original like new packaging too, and also looked originally packaged! Looks factory fresh, not a fingerprint on them - boxes in the closet. I really do believe that they were never used, including the interior packaging. I've had them for 25 years.

Only two problems... I tested them 25 years ago when I got them and they sounded really bad. I'm sure the caps are totally wasted (55 years) and the woofers may be hard now too. Carefully back in the boxes they went.

A cap restoration,... someday. I originally bought them for spare parts and the beautiful cabs!! I use another pair now that I really like the sound of, so if they do have issues just use the parts, swap the cabs, and 1970 BINGO!!

They are just there in the closet, in an air conditioned environment - taking up space.

As far as ' Most Attractive ' - they sure do ' look pretty '!!:thumbsup:
