What are the top 5 favored Klipsch speaker models?

First, I'm very happy to see that there's a Klipsch Korner here at AK. There are so many speaker makers out there, so Klipsch must be held in rather high regard around here to have its own sub section. ;)

Back in the latter 1980's, I made a decision to spend "a little extra" and get Klipsch Heresy II speakers. And I've no regrets... the speakers are still with me and in great shape. Judging from scans of the Internet and here, it looks like Heresy's are well appreciated. I wonder if they would they make it into the top 5 of all time Klipsch models...

So... what would folks around here say are the top 5 speaker models ever made by Klipsch? This is considering the cost/value ratio as well. :)

Would the Klipschorns and La Scalas figure at the top? Cornwalls a close third? :scratch2:

glad I'm not the only one who considers Heritage line the only valid speakers (except perhaps the Jubilee which I have not heard) that Klipsch made.

Some of their more common models are also quite good, but the Heritage are world class.

Many of us consider the Jubilee to be a "heritage" speaker, being as PWK worked on the design.

I also consider the Chorus I's & II's to be part of the Heritage lineup. I can only speak of the Klipsch speakers I own, but the Chorus II's, Cornwall II's and Heresy II's are all classic speakers. The Heresy II's might be the best value in speakers in the market today with a pair in near mint condition trading in the $450 range.
If I had the perfect room, and the cash, I would buy the Klipschorns, or the LaScala II's.

Of what I've heard/own(ed)

K-horns
Cornwalls
Lascalla's
Forte II's
Chorus I's

Not counting Belles or the Jubilee's which I haven't heard....:scratch2:

Although the K'horn, Belle, and Cornwall are not in my hi-fi budget, the Forte II's may be... I'll have to keep my eyes out for those! :D

I am a little put off by the latest round of Klipsch speaker designs. They just seem strange... and maybe overpriced? Certainly most speaker manufacturers seem to have the need to jump into the HT arena with all kinds of daring shapes and configurations. I'd have expected Klipsch to remain more conservative. They even went so far as to get into the computer speaker zone... odd! I wonder just how good they are?

So, Heritage it is... :)

We used to make a pilgrimage to the equipment dealers every month or so and what I remember most was one speaker in particular at the Klipsch dealer that would bring up goose bumps every time we heard it.

I'm not sure if it was the Fort'e or the Chorus. It was his larger speakers. . . This guy didn't have the LS, K-Horns or Belles on the floor so it had to be one of those two. . .

This was 1980-82. . . Even though I had JBL-250s, L-112s and 150s during that period I always lusted after that Klipsch. Not sure why I never bought it as I could afford it. Actually I owned a set of Cornwalls around that time too., maybe earlier.

I still think about that speaker. . . I gotta think it was the Fort'e because of it's height

That or perhaps they're just trying to segregate us loons away from the "other" speaker guys... :scratch2:

Your criteria includes cost/value...how does one apply that since person A might be willing to buy a new pair of Khorns and person B might not?

My feeling is, the bigger the better!

Given that I haven't heard all brands, I'd have to vote that the Klipsch pc speakers kick some serious hiney. (disclaimer, I bought some Promedias 2.1's on the Klipsch name alone and absolutely love them)

I then went and bought not one, but TWO pair of their ear phones on name alone and love them too.

Guess that makes me a coolaid drinker :thmbsp: Heck... I'll help SERVE the coolaid!:D:thmbsp::music:

What???

2 consecutive posts, and no Jubilee pitch??? Are you feeling OK???...:D

And you're damm well right, bigger is definitely better

*restrains self from making VOTT pitch on Klipsch forum*...:nono:

C'mon over to Knoxville to listen and one day, you too will sound like a car salesman in your every post! :scratch2: :D

I am new here too. I was curious as to what the Klipsch faithful thought of the RF-83s and the new over the top Palladiums? :scratch2:

I liked the RF-83s.
I found them tighter and more accurate in the low end with a slight over-pronouncement of the the mid bands.
Not too strident in the top end.
I wouldn't say rolled off, just less "sharp" as my RF7s.
Which is, obviously, subjective to each listeners preference..

Haven't even saw a Palladium, in person, so commenting on it would be a guess at best. :)

Regards,
John
